Sub $10,000 used car
Or less, 8,000 is even better, even 6,000 :@) the car I am on now was 5,500 and my back up Mazda 3 cost 2,500 four years ago, great car but subframe rotten and time for a change.
Not looking for a new car, SUV or x over just a usable cost effective vehicle. Throw some names out that I can consider. Or tell me about your ride the good and bad of it.
What I aspire to is a RAV4 or a CRV but they are silly money 12-15,000 for a 2012 onward. Looked at a Fiesta but mega auto box issues....also the Mazda CX-7 but again issues regarding cam chains snapping.
Ideally it be 4 cylinder FWD, low key (covert vehicle) able to blend in, so no LR discoveries, Fiat 500 or mini or VW beetles. Thoughts ?

How about Toyota Matrix or the clone Pontiac Vibe? Good load carrier.
As an example, Craigslist Fraser Valley has 2009 version for asking price of 5200.
I have one and it's proven reliable. Go for the 1.8liter. I have the 2.4liter and it's a little heavy on gas around town but great on the highway. Good load carrying space when back seats folded flat.
No real vices that I've found.
Not now produced, stopped making them in 2010/11.

My main working car is a vibe, awesome car, I will be retiring it to second back up car status, I was looking at maybe a 2009-2010 vibe as it's been that good. Mine is the 1.8 BTW
Edit: One annoying thing, Speedo only goes as far as 299,999

Anyone got a Chevy Cruze, 2011-2013 and think it's a good car?

Actually, I jest - I have one and flippin' love it, despite the whole emissions thing ... just waiting to see what VW are going to offer in June wrt compensation. Our original plan was to buy it and run it until it dies.

May as well get the big brother instead, the Impala. Bullet proof engines and built like tanks. They also depreciate like crap, which is good..for you.

Was wanting away from a V6 for gas mileage issues, but I will look out for them and keep it in mind
