This story sounds similar to me to ones we see hints of here from people who move to remote parts of Canada, NS or NB for example. The lure of a big house with scenery. The reality of old houses, nothing to do, the need for cash to keep the place from falling down. It's not a particularly French story.

I don't think she is any more clueless than thousands of others that pack up their lives.
I liked the article - at least she was able to take the piss out of herself and everyone around her. And admit to numerous faults. Good for her.
