Default Studio Tax and Apple

Does any one know of an approved free tax return software that works on Apple.

Studio Tax works on Windows only.

Why? Lots of accountants (proper ones) do tax returns under the table. Mine does both our returns for $70 cash and saves us lots of money.

I'd be reluctant to use the services of an accountant that is prepared to accept such work. It's not as if tax returns performed by an accountant (fully above board) are prohibitively expensive.

Why would you be reluctant? He's a chartered accountant and signs off the returns. He just does them on his own time.

With this we agree. An accountant who is willing to risk their career (and perhaps liberty) for $70 is one I would stay clear of. Who know what angles they would be pulling with my taxes

Under the table cash to me implies untraceable, possibly unreported income. On the side, separate from his employer may be another issue, although could be conflict of interest unless the employer knows and agrees.

I use an accountant who does them completely above board for $60 for the two of us.

None of us get enjoyment from having to pay taxes so I understand why some choose not to declare all of their income. I comply with the law of the land (even if I don't agree with it) and I expect the professionals I employ to do so too - just a personal choice. Each to their own and all that.

Been using various accountants since arriving 6 years ago. No complaints, don't mind paying the $100+ for two returns. At least I know they are done right and any issues or audits are handled by the accountant.

Maybe the issue is that he is not licensed by CICA to offer services to the public in his own name.

You should try and find out what software Apple themselves use for tax purposes. Whatever it is, it seems to work a treat for them.
