Stationery fetish

I have a thing about stationery. I can spend hours looking at it, imagining using it. I like the feel of writing on a pad. Anyone else the same?
The latest Staples flyer had some back to school offers.

I bought six of these and four report covers. 5c each. Grand total inclusive of tax 55c.
I have no need of them, although I will make use of them. I just couldn't resist.

Noooo!! I love stationery. Especially nice notebooks and writing paper, but you can't spoil its perfection by writing on it!

I love stationery, I used to drive my sister mad whenwe were little, spending ages in WH Smiths. Its so heartbreaking putting the 1st marks in a special notebook, especially if it goes wrong.

My name is Bats and I love stationery.
I have fond memories of Paperchase. Need I say more?

And there are frequently those who post on this site who say that Canadians are often dull and like weird things .....
I personally actually went into a depression when I couldn't get my Screwfix catalogue delivered to BC

I used to love going into 'Paperchase' in the UK - so many amazing things but not always good value.
I've tried Chapters/Indigo here and it just doesn't compare as well although I like their choice of journals

I also wish that there was such a thing as gel pens when I was at school.

I like mustard. I wouldn't say I had a thing about it but I love all kinds of mustard. In fact I'm trying to find the perfect mustard. I like hot, English style mustard.

I don't but it appears my wife does, she went to Wal-Mart for milk and came home with 10 of those 5 cent notebooks Wal-Mart has for back to school...lol
I've gone mostly paperless for the most part, use a white board for notes at home, bills all paperless now, almost miss paper in a way...lol If we don't order something nothing even comes in the mail anymore....

Love it, especially Clairefontaine (squared) notebooks. Can easily while away the hours in a stationary store. Plenty of pristine notebooks chez Shard awaiting the perfect use (and probably never to be used given the ubiquity of mobile computing). Interestingly, it was reading about Winston's notebook fetish in "1984" (Orwell) which reassured me that I was not totally crazy.
The other OCD purchase is plastic containers. Quite the collection.

I don't know Paperchase, but we had a shop back in Bristol called The Works" that sold a few books and loads of stationery including those nice blank books that had all kinds of uses but remained almost empty if not untouched.
Lunch breaks in there were healthier than the pub.
I don't remember that. Quite a few years since I read it though.
Shard, meet my mother in law Rita.
