Stanza 3
Dirty British coaster with a salt-caked smoke stack,
Butting through the Channel in the mad March days,
With a cargo of Tyne coal,
Road-rails, pig-lead,
Firewood, iron-ware, and cheap tin trays.

Actually, that stanza has raised disturbing memories of the mad English teacher, Spitty-Willie Meakan, prancing around in his gown beating out the rhythm of the words with a ruler on his head. I won't sleep tonight.

yeah, but they dropped orf the Tyne coal and then went on with the tin trays down to Cornwall. Like coals to N'cstl only difrunt.
