Yay we had a really great day!!!!!!!
Left at 9 this morning and got there at 11! The day started off so well, went to get some food and a coffee, had a bit of a wander to see what was what.
Then we settled in for the breeds showcase - some lovely examples and some not so lovely but all beautiful in their own way!
When that was over it was 2 o clock so we thought we'll grab a coffee have a quick look around the stands and catch the Nations Cup.
ooooops
3 horse fanatics, credit cards and stalls selling horse stuff and no hubbys is a very very bad combination sooooooo
1 saddle, 2 bridles, 3 pairs of muck boots (long leg all weather riding boot sooooo comfy just had to) polo bandage, 5 pairs of gloves, girth (or cinch whatever way you want to put it) chest strap and saddle pad later........
it is now 6.30 -
So we head off to see a friend who has the Welsh pony stand and go grab some supper with her - she breeds and trains arabs too and shocked us all with the news that she is letting them go due to ill health (hers not theirs!)and concentrating on the section B's................. (scrapes penny jar to see if she will accept 15cents for a stallion that she is gelding before she lets him go
)
Take her Welsh pony back to the stalls for the night then all head off into Calgary for a dairy Queen.
Had an absolute riot out with the girls today - just hope our respective other halves don't find the stash of stuff we bought today
and thoroughly enjoyed all those unencumbered hours of shopping.
What a fab day ranking high as one of my faves here so far!
Oh and when we got there we parked the truck and then joked that if we couldn't find it we would just have to wait until everyone else had gone so it was the last one there. Well due to the fact that we went to Dairy Queen in the Welsh Pony Club ladies car (who is absolutely mental btw!!!!! funniest lady i have ever met) we got back to Spruce Meadows at 9pm - and guess what
OUR TRUCK WAS THE LAST ONE THERE SO WE FOUND IT - RESULT

its would be the same as you choosing a gift for your other half, although i do tend to think women put more effort into it
