Space Oddity
You just knew it would be the Canadian guy...This is even more cringeworthy than Bowie's new album.

Re: Space Oddity
Very cringeworthy, you would have to ask why he thought that was a good idea?

And now for the rest of the day I can take nothing seriously

Re: Space Oddity
I don't know about Space Oddity, but here's an Earth Oddity - for the past week, every time I've opened the Guardian website, my Internet Explorer just closes down after about 2 seconds.
It's my work computer - many sites are just plain old blocked, fair enough - but it's only the Guardian where it will open, just enough time for me to see the headline, then poof! it kicks me entirely out of IE. Very odd. |
Re: Space Oddity
Just saw it on the Telegraph site. Pretty coolio.
If you were in space, would you not want to sing "Ground Control to Major Tom"? Of course you would. It's great for us to see that they're not just being boring old boffins up there, they're having a laugh too. Can't believe you guys are being more po-faced than a Canadian scientist.:rofl::rofl: |

Re: Space Oddity
I think it is pretty cool. A bloke singing? From space? Your actual space? C'mon lighten up. I believe he heads back to earth today or tomorrow. I'm going to miss his tweets and spectacular photo's on my twitter feed. I don't believe any astronaut has done more in recent times to share the experience of livign in the ISS with the world.

Re: Space Oddity
It would have been much funnier if he'd done the William Shatner version of "Rocket Man".

http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/20...d-space-oddity In Among The Thugs, Bill Buford recounted an incident in Italy where a Canadian who’d come along to see the match asked some of the football thugs if he should bring his guitar along as he’d heard there was usually singing at these events. |

The astronaut stuff is indeed cool. I just wish he'd knock off the karaoke.

I imagine we are going to see a lot more of him when he returns to earth. In fact I do believe that he is heading out to Calgary to lead the Stampede parade! J :) |

Liked it. And it seems Bowie did too.

I'm not in Canada. I don't watch TV, and don't spend hours surfing random news reports. I guess you might say I'm in a third world country. ..... Google my location, under my Avatar. ;)

When I googled Dixie it came up with more than one in the US, so which one is it?

Re: Space Oddity
OK Glad thats sorted then ;)
Just to get you up to speed then, he is a Canadian Rap singer who flew to the moon in a helium balloon so he could make an out of this world, solo music cover Album. Sher only made it to the space station but still managed to duo with the Rap star on two of the cover songs. He returned 10:30 last night, and we now await the new album release date... |
