Good one Steve, at least they are being reasonable about it. Here's hoping you get a good deal, I'd at least be wanting some recognition on their web site:thumbsup:

Good news Steve, you must feel so much better.:D Even if not much comes from it, at least you now know someone did nick your photo, and London Drugs are not disputing the fact and are seemingly happy to work with you to find a suitable resolution.:)
Well done for taking them on.

I told them to leave there as I don't object that strenuously and if they are willing to offer some sort of recompense then we can all be happy.

They said they thought they had bought the rights to use the image from a clip art website about a year and a half ago. But they can no longer find that image on the clip art website. So they would like to dig a little deeper to see what they can find. If they find who they bought the rights from they will definitely let me know and I can pursue it with the offending web site.

They said that they were quite amenable to maybe working out an arrangement with me perhaps some free printing or some such thing. The fellow I spoke with said he could not make that decision but did not see that as being a problem.

So it appears we can work it out and all be happy with the result. :):)

Thanks everyone for your support, it meant a lot.

Final chapter to the saga.

Received a call yesterday afternoon from the Photo Lab manager.

Once again many apologies and no they can't figure out where they got my image from, they have no record at all.

They have decided that it was time for an overhaul of the site so they won't be using my image much longer (should disappear in the next day or so).

They have offered me a sum (in the form of a credit to be used for photo processing) for the use of the image but they did ask me not to discuss the amount. It'll get me an awful lot of 4x6's ;)

Suffice to say I am happy with the amount offered and accepted.

So ends my saga.

Thanks again all.
Steve

Way to kick-ass Steve!

I too feel it was wrong for someone to steal your work... and I don't just say that as a paying customer. ;)

Good on you for getting them to agree to compensation, time to start picking out your favorite photos and having them processed *lol* ;)

PS too bad.. thought that your new profile pic was your cat, my cat is a similar breed (Domestic Shorthair the vets list her as) beautiful silver blue coat and bright green eyes... going to try to post some of my fave photos of her if I can figure out how *lol* :o

Woohoo looks like it worked, the second photo is her favorite spot to sleep to demand attention from me when I'm trying to use my computer

Looks like it's gone. Went to compare and couldn't find it. Agree with other posts though - great photo!

Good for you Steve. Can you embed a watermark/coryright into your pics? I have had it put on all of my pictures - it might prevent the problem in the future? The copyright shows up when you look at a big image of my pictures,
