Canada played pretty well today. Against another goalie it could have been a rugby score.

I agree completely, the commentators were shocked at how well Latvia's goalie played, it was really impressive. At one point he needed medical attention because he was so dehydrated...

The British curling women played a fantastic game as well - the skip's final rock was a phenomenal shot, really fantastic and really difficult, I was incredibly impressed. At least they went out on a fantastic shot as opposed to an error (which is what happened to the Chinese men midway through the game - huge error that ended up with Canada scoring 3).

They were off their game and it should of been a walk over. They played like shit and should be ashamed of themselves.

Hehe, glad I could help.

I now have one of my favourite exchanges from SNL Celebrity Jeopardy playing in my head (because nerd):

"All you have to do is tell me if the hot tea is hot or cold."
[silence]
"No one can tell me if the hot tea is hot or cold."
*beep*
"Yes, Keanu Reeves"
"Is it ... ICED TEA?"
"NO, it's HOT TEA!"
"Well then I have no idea."

Jennifer Jones, gold! I had to run home for something and just caught the last end.

What a great game - it was neck-in-neck the whole way down and a huge error by Sweden in the 9th end just solidified it and put them in a bad place going into the 10th - made things a bit easier for Canada, actually - but no complaints!! YAY GOLD!!!

Womens hockey is on in an hour, and we've qualified one skiier in the women's skiing halfpipe, who is sitting in 6th with one skiier to go.

Two guaranteed medals coming (womens hockey, mens curling) - another gold today would bump Canada to 3rd place in the medals table - ahead of the US (assuming the US's medal count doesn't otherwise change between now and then!).

Have I mentioned I love the Olympics?

Also - huge congrats to the British women for getting the curling Bronze! Nice news to wake up to this morning.

With a guarantee of either silver or gold in the men's curling, GB's four medals equals their best ever Winter Olympic performance, matching Chamonix in 1924

I read that on BBC this morning!! Fantastic result for Team GB. Do they have any other medal hopefuls with the remaining tournaments?
