But would you rather be told to have a nice day by someone who doesn't mean it, or to **** off by someone who does?

is that a good thing or bad?

To the OP. I assume you are having last minute wobbles and want to hear good stuff to reassure you that you are doing the right thing.

So, in that spirit. It's gobsmackingly beautiful round here at the moment. The wind is cold the sun is shining between the rain clouds and I am just back from a friend's cottage. We sat drinking wine, both in front of the fire inside or outside on the dock.

For negativity please see my other posts.

Heh. Universal healthcare, gay marriage, many laws not enforced, peameal bacon.

I think I may have written something negative once too.

Trees. Canada has lots of trees. That can be both a good thing and drearily oppressive.

hah, I deleted as I thought my post was confusing.

Local beef is good, but we don't see much in the shops and I'm not into the half a cow in the freezer thing. If I were I probably would. If you see what I mean.

slight bias to those in the Meaford area of Georgian Bay/Grey Highlands but people are making an effort. there are links to similar stores around the bay on the website as well.

Thanks for the link but the nearest of those is almost 2 hours away in Picton -Fifth Town Cheese - it is very good but not an standard shopping place.

Much as I try and stick by the buying locally concept sometimes your wallet means you have to shop in Costco and buy the Alberta beef. Which is better than shopping in Farmboy and buying US beef at cheaper prices. It's all compromise.

(Not sure which people you mean by this.)

You dont have to buy the half cow (but its cheaper that way). There are local farmers around who will just sell whatever cuts you want too. (I know one in Campbellford )

FFS, there is absolutely nothing good about Canada. The 250,000 or so immigrants coming every year do so in the hope/belief that it's a bigger shithole that the one they're leaving. If it is then they know they're in paradise.
