No I just do the accent really well and have a healthy obsession for oatcakes and Wrights pies!! :D ;)

Stokie is NOT the easiest accent to mimic either. I'm from Stoke and miss oatcakes terribly. You can get them in Sainsburys in London (UK) but they are packaged and taste like rubber.

I don't know that it's appropriate to blame an observer of a phenomenon for the existence of that phenomen; if an apple falls on your head, is it Darwin's fault? I think not.

I thought Darwin made observations about whether man evolved from fish. I had no idea he made observations about gravity:p

Look, Nosferatu, it's hardly my fault that I bear a passing resemblance to a well-spoken, hugely talented and probably very wealthy actor.

The similarities probably end there (I haven't checked his nipples).

My nan thinks he's very sexy especially when he played that New Zealand bloke, so I'd say work it. :)

The original comment, "It's Stevens!", referred to Hopkins only obliquely.

I think you will find that the defining characteristics of the person whom you so closely resemble cannot be fairly stated as "well-spoken, hugely talented and ... wealthy".

I'm not sure whether or not I've done that. If so, it was before I'd have expected him to decant it and stand back.

If we ever meet again and I show up with fava beans, be afraid. Be very afraid.

Not wishing to be pedantic, but do you perhaps mean "pedantic?" ;)

"More simple" is quite acceptable, especially in this anaphoric construction.

Pretentious, moi? :p

I left Canada when I was 10yrs old and have lived in Coventry ever since, ( a very long time) but whenever I strike up a conversation with someone, we can only get so far when they will say ' are you from Somerset or Devon?'
How did that come about?
