Hi Jim,
Have you had a look using the search function? There should be loads of threads about shipping somewhere or other. I have added one such thread on here for you to look at. We used GB Liners, the Manchester office and had a great service and all our stuff arrived in tact! In fact they were the only ones that did follow up calls after giving us a quote, the others didn't bother after all their speal about how great they are!

Hi
We have used GB Liners
They have been good so far
We had to change dates several times due to our house sale and they were very accommodating.
The crew who loaded our house were good and very fast, because we self packed the kids toys and some other boxes they had us packed in about a day. The container arrived early at their request as they finished early.
Now we are just waiting for it to trek across Canada to Calgary as we have just had confirmation that it arrived safely in Montreal. Also the company over here have very reasonable storage rates!!!!
Good Luck

We have also signed up with GB Liners - they were very professional and were also the only company that called back to check how their quote compared - we had 5 companies in to quote in total and found GB Liners to be the best in price and professionalism.

We have just gone through the quote phase, we had a local company Whites, and three others PSS, Robinsons and Fox, the most professional were Robinsons in their measuring up, but they came out the most expensive. After a phone call they reduced the cost and threw in some free storage in the UK. We think we will be choosing them.

Most of the companies we spoke to offered up to 2-4 weeks free storage.
One thing to consider though is your goods don't get loaded into your container at your house, also we have just received a storage quote from the Canadian company this is pasted from my e-mail what they quoted,
If you do require storage, our storage costs are based on actual weight. Your shipment weighs 5600 lbs, so the storage works as such:
Warehouse handling (one time fee) this is to cover the off loading, vaulting and reloading for delivery out of your shipment at $9.00/100 lbs, and the monthly storage is $5.00/100 lbs /month.
So based on 5600 lbs, the costs are WHH $504.00 CAD and the storage per month is $280.00 CAD.
So at least we can have our goods as soon as we have bought a house. Which is happening fast
