Selling my car

Well, I've done it, I didn't want to, but I have.

I've finally listed my MG on Ebay (along with my house). I really don't want to see it go, especially as I will then be left with no toy and a house that I am desperate to sell.

Talk about depression. I would have quite happily kept it for another couple of months, but as my OH sold his last month, he feels compelled to nag me into selling mine (just spiteful I think).

Anyway. All sympathy would be gratefully appreciated. If you want to have a look, now is your chance before it;s not mine anymore.

If you do want to get a replacement sometime, check out auto trader..there're a couple of MGs on there at the moment (one is a midget, though).

Or buy this (and promise to let me have a go ;) )

Holy cow DNS thats a beautiful car - was more a fan of the MGBGT but what a stunning example you have. Understand now why you would be upset.

Look on the brightside (both you and Coffeepot i'm refering to here)

You could always build yourself a Factory Five cobra (do a search for them - awaesome kit car company, although you will be gutted to find out that you cannot yet import the kit into Canada for the GTM. Mr MMC very upset to find that out this weekend)

Bung a nice V8 in it and you have something that looks, sounds and performs very nicely indeedy!!

Stuff it heres the link http://www.factoryfive.com/

(already on the list for when the GTM becomes allowed in these parts :o)

Has he been speaking to Al at Western Canada Cobras? He's a good friend of mine. He could always buy one of my cars if I ever get around to getting it to market!

Why not bring it with you - it's over 15 years old so you can. I did.:D

Re: Selling my car

I booed when my Spitfire went then I boooed even more when my Ducati went. Then Hubby Booed when his Starsky and Hutch Torino went, then booed a little more when the Roller went and he was very very subdued when the Challenger went and he still hasn't forgiven himself - silly man!

But the collections start pretty quick when you get here, there are lots of MG's around (not so many Spitfires) many at good prices - the last auction we went too there were 5 or 6 MG's in various states of repair and one very ugly pooh brown one:eek:

So keep your chin up and I hope you get a good price for your baby!

I thought about it but if I bought mine over OH wanted to bring his car. then there is all his other boys toys and I would actually quite like to bring an few pots and pans.

The better option all around seemed to be to get rid and start again.

Yeh, and the insurance companies aren't always all that happy about RHD cars. Mainly due to the Chinese youngsters racing their Skylines in Vancouver.

If anyone buys this before I arrive in 2 weeks time I'll screeeeeeam! (I know that's not very manly, but I've always fancied a Sebring!!)

I've also just had to sell my beloved on Ebay - Marcos Mantula
No chance of bringing her with me, as the DVLA registration date is 1996 :( This is the only date that TC will accept, even though the car was built in 1986 the road conversion was 1996 and that's the date they use :curse:

So the hunt will be on for a new toy - I'm also considering the FactoryFive GTM if they can get it approved

Any other kit car / V8 enthusiasts in Nova Scotia out there?

This thread will not deteriorate to that level you naughty girl!!!!!!!!!! Mr MMC hates the little truck, and due to the FFR GTM being not allowed as yet is now trying to find what else floats his boat enough to plonk the LS7 engine into it.

If your o/h's are anything like mine we have diagrams, internet sites, pictures and ideas floating about the house, a spare room full of parts (ok granted they are mine for my art stuff but anyone else think cylider bodies make great candle holders?!!!) A truck exhaust stack converted into a lamp and a yard full of old cars ready for stock car season

And I can't remember who said it but it rings so true - the search for a property entails a heated shop with a house attached!!!

Have you had much interest from Ebay regarding the house / car?

destinationnovascotia Mar 7th 2008 4:21 am

Re: Selling my car

Loads of interest in the car. 64 people watching it. A dozen or so questions.Loads of interest. About 70 people watching it, a dozen or so questions, just spent a hour on the phone to people wanting to buy it off auction or wanting to view at the weekend.

Part of me doesn't want it to sell, but thats life.

As for the house, just put it on for extra advertising really. Some watchers, but no real interest. Didn't really expect much, but I hope that estate agent gets their fingers out soon. I just want to go. Infuriating isn't it. The thing I really need to get rid of won't budge.

mandymoochops Mar 7th 2008 4:32 am

Re: Selling my car

I know DNS we had a guy fly over from Ireland when I sold my car to buy it in a heartbeat (though I did put it up for sale on the enthusiasts forum I belonged to!)

Also did the same as you with the house on Ebay and she is still up for sale in the UK. We didn't let it stop us moving though - granted we don't really want to buy here until it sells but we have a rental and its giving us an idea of areas, and a feel of what we want. So in a way its been a good thing.

(Problem is the rental doesn't have a big workshop or land for my intended horses!!! ;))

I would strongly suggest that if finances allow just come over and start living here, you may find that your needs / wants and ambitions may differ from what you originally thought they might be!

destinationnovascotia Mar 7th 2008 5:11 am

Re: Selling my car

Yes, I have considered just moving. My WP should be through within the next month, we will have to consider moving then. My OH is reluctant to leave the house and I have found that it would be hard to insure if it was left empty. One day I will look back on all this and laugh (maybe)
