Scaredy Cat
#1
Our cat spends his waking hours gazing out the window or meowing at the door to be let out.
In winter you can almost see him thinking why do these humans have snow all the time. He doesn't like snow but still wants to go out.
(I still can't get over the idea of indoor cats
but there we are)
When the warmer weather comes he's permanently wanting to go out and, of course, sometimes he tries to escape when someone's at the door or mother in law goes on the deck for a smoke. She takes him out plenty (on a leash) but 2 minutes later he wants out again.
Anyway, last night he somehow got out without being seen. Must have been around 11.00. We were busy taking the doors off an old fridge that was being collected when a new one was to be delivered today. Suddenly realised it wouldn't go through the front door with the doors on. The fridge, not the cat.
Fast forward to 7.00 this morning when I get downstairs to see stepson opening back door, having heard meowing.
In walks the bedraggled, saturated with rain cat. No signs of distress, injury or anything. No idea where he may have spent the night.
Probably awake a lot as he slept more than usual today. But in his awake time he hasn't gone near the door, meowed, and only once looked out the window.
