Default Sat Nav/GPS Reviews?

I got to get a sat nav as I keep getting lost in Vancouver.
Anyone got any reviews or personal experiences of their devices for use in Canada? I don't trust the reviews on sites like Amazon so I thought you good folk might have some recommendations.

I've got a TomTom, works just fine, most of the time, does take some strange route occasionally.

Seriously, are there any road junctions in Manitoba?

What is it with you and Manitoba lately?

Aaah yes the curmudgeon.

I spent years at work and in retirement in developing the curmudgeonly image only to completely blow it when I hung a small teddy bear from my rear view mirror.

But could you see it all the way to the horizon?

There you are. Alberta is only half as bad as Manitoba.

<in some ways>

2 years ago my OH handed me a map of Ottawa and a compass, he says we've all lost our sense of direction and common sense and I'll learn the areas better.

Its made for some interesting de tours, scenic routes but it does the trick

You're very welcome.

I can see the possible application of a satnav device in Vancouver. I got lost there myself once.

So I bought a streetmap.

just got my wife a tom tom, forget the model, but it was $249 from future shop, priced up in best buy-same. only the more expensive ones we found in costco-garmin.
seems ok so far, voiced directions, nice and clear, easy to take on and off, and easy to route plan, put your favorites in etc.
