Do you arrive in Argentia or Port Aux Basques? That'll define what you can do in a week. For example, it's 12hrs of driving from Port Aux Basques ferry terminal (basically the SW tip of the Island) to St. John's on the East coast. So thats a day each way.

If you are travelling over from mid-June onwards I'd recommend taking the North Sydney to Argentia run for at least one leg of the journey. It is 900+km and a 12 hour drive from Port aux Basques to St. John's. Argentia is a couple of hours drive away.
What do you want to do/see when you are over here? How much driving do you want to do?
