Well, it aint crumble to be eaten in this house but humble.
Here's part of the scene. People well established in Canada will know, at a glance, that that's not rhubarb but burdock, trampled not out of fear but for it's juice. Juice that superstition holds will repel mosquitoes. |

Having just googled this, it seems that "1st year" burdock and rhubarb look very similar, but burdock has hollow stems. :thumbup:

You can also dry/roast burdock root to make a coffee substitute.
Oh, and rhubarb finds it a little hard to adapt to the drought & sun-strewn S of Spain! ... but it's surviving, just.... |
