I am pro choice, but being married to a catholic I sincerely wish more people would choose not to.
Really, I've heard they make good spouses?

And they probably hope to influence kids in that way, while they are still at a point where they can be influenced. I dont think they care if they shock or offend if it achieves their goal of fewer (preferably no) abortions. Same thing the government is trying to do with ciggie packaging really.

What are the "pro choice" lobby in favour of women having the choice to do? And what are the Catholic church strongly opposed to? Do I really have to spell it out?

Talking of facing up to revolting realities, perhaps the Catholic Church has it's own private reasons to encourage unwanted children to grow up in it's care homes as opposed to being aborted?

Souixie, why don't you report the leaflet to the police? It's Canada, there's bound to be a law about upsetting people via the mail.

These tactics are great.

Somebody should find some pictures of the after affects of anal rape and hand it around outside the catholic church. I mean that is one reality of what happens to catholic kids so why sugar coat it.

I'm in two minds on the issue.

I think a lot of things are sugar-coated.

Maybe people should see what you have described, plus war casualties, gunshot wounds, factory farming, vivisection and so on.

I would maybe put an age limit on it though.

The paradox in what you say is that as you remove the "sugar coating" people become desensitized to the issue in question. For example, once scenes of factory farming are as commonplace as scenes of robots building cars, no one will really care about the said issue. Sometimes less is more.

You are right. However, and i realise that this is a bit strawman, i suspect that those who would defend this specific example are also those who would limit access to other media - violent films, games, porn etc. It's the hypocrisy - I doubt iaink would defend his neighbours putting their home made sex pics through his letter box in quite the same manner.
