I go the the stress version next Thursday.

Did Canada know that you were going to be such a burden on the health care system when we allowed you to emigrate here? ;)

Sent karma you old git! ;)

I can't really take the credit - beautiful Georgian architecture and a decorator call Norrie should!

I just peeled off the fern-embossed wall paper one Friday night in a fit of boredom. It was a lovely flat but I'm finding life easier now that I don't have to worry about the maintenance costs of keeping/putting it in good order. :)

Love the windows. Very classy. Those baseboards must have been a bugger to do, though.

I had the window refurbished as they are original - eash section weighs 46kgs and watching them swing in the wind as they were being reglazed gave me much stress. Beautiful - lovely in summer, like living in a conservatory, bl**dy freezing in winter.

They'd be hopeless over here. About as much use as clingfilm and they'd last about five minutes.

The Master bedroom in our 'other' house

The before pics aren't so good (again), they were taken when we viewed the house before buying it - basically it was a plain white 'box'. Those curtains hung way above the window from the ceiling, were a good 12 inches short of the bottom of it...lol

I decided that it wasn't that exciting an intermediate piccy, plus it's hot here and I'm being lazy. :)

Ahem! I'm getting reno pic withdrawal - it's been almost a week now ;)

And I am furiously washing up, hoping to get it into a decent state for photos. Couldn't plumb the dishwasher in....will take one tomorrow for you as fridge freezer finally came yesterday.

Electrician comes on Thursday to rewire so you may get to see pictures of raggles! :)

PS Loved what you did with your room.

I nearly put that then decided raggles was more seemly!

Raggles are the holes in the walls made to run the electical wiring. There is only one single socket per room so I'm adding extra sockets everywhere.

I must have bee in denial when I bought this place as I never noticed - in fact, I didn't look at the house at all, just the view which I love. :)

Tomorrow.....this is all taking far too much time.

If anyone is contemplating getting their house rewired, don't do it. Or if you have to, leave the country whilst the boyos rip up all your carpets, move every bit of furniture to different rooms, bash your floorboards, add new bits of trunking, destroy various things like telephone points & door frames & bash the furniture....all the time saying.....

... "So why are you getting this done?" & "Doesn't all this banging, drilling, noise and mess stress you out? It would me."......no pictures, can't find camera and need to find the beds as a priority!

Plus the new fridge freezer has to go back....

Anyway, none of this is life & death so I'll be fine by the time my MIL rocks up tomorrow. She won't stay - she vacuums and dusts her house every day so she won't like my place at the moment.

Ooooo, go on....

I've put my camera up safe somewhere and can't find it.

I particularly want to take a piccy of my living room, as it now has a "gosh, you don't have kids, do you?" type carpet plus I have managed to unpack my free-standing punchbag at last - been packed since March so now I have a target, in lieu of absent bloke.

Rest of house is a disaster, I stick with my comments about rewiring being the worst. Plasterer coming at the w/e! :)

No, I promised and I will, I'm just a bit lax with time sometimes.....and I really can't find my camera. Cue two weeks of "d'you think the builders took it?"....it's here somewhere....

Now, much as I enjoy a bit of physical violence, I said I would show you my kitchen when it is done.

It's not done - I was assimilated into the world of work (something I find challenging!) and it is taking up far too much time. Only here to write this as I wimped off sick today....

Once it is looking as nice as your lovely house, then I will post....

Sure.......just move some things around, too - make it look good ;)

You can post pics of your Ikea 'construction', too (I love building that stuff - my mum always said I should have been a boy! :o )

LOL, to be fair - it was TWO months ago, and you promised a PROGRESS pic of the 'raggles' :p

Seriously - sorry you're not feeling well, though; and hope it's nothing terrible :(

But.......seeing as you're up to posting on here, you could maybe manage to take a picture?.....and post that, too ;) :D lol)

As for my house - you're confusing it with the one that's for sale (but still not completely finished, either). The one I actually live in - almost every room looks very similar to the 'tool shed' we call a bedroom, that I posted a pic of here ages ago! :(

The good (I hope) news is - we have a man coming on Monday to discuss the state of the place, and figure out exactly what needs doing now that we've got the other guys lawyer off our backs! I have a feeling though, that even if we hire them, they won't be able to start 'til Spring!

Awww Yonk - wasn't being serious - hope you know that!

Nice Kitchen though! (I can see past the mess, and visualise what's to come; and if it's any consolation, my house makes yours look like a show home right now! ;))

Hope you feel better soon :)
