When we moved 2 years ago my OH was looking to join a soccer league that didn't take themselves too seriously etc but played regularly and maybe had a few beers afterwards. He really struggled with this, they were all full or had try outs etc.. and seemed more serious than the UK.

Anyway, to cut a long story short he has set up his own league for anyone wanting to play in Ottawa, you can enter teams or apply as an individual and be allocated a team.
