Default The real British citizen test.

Here are ten questions that seem to be a more valid and reliable test of your understanding of British culture. Can you answer them without using Google?

I would have added more but I got hungry and have gone for lunch.
Please feel free to add more so we can make a comprehensive and accurate test.

What goes into making a ploughman's lunch?

What date is St. George's Day?

Name two of Bruce Forsyth's catchphrases on the Generation Game?

What do you toss on Shrove Tuesday?

How old was Rosie Webster when she lost her virginity?

What was the Winter of Discontent?

What was a polytechnic?

Who said, "I don't believe it"?

What does the term, Penny for the Guy, mean?

Who won the 1981 Ashes for England?

Who frequently referred to his brother as a "Plonker"?

Who scored a hat trick in the 1966 World Cup?

Who runs the Rovers Return?

What is a quid?

Who is "Teflon Tony"?

Should I stay or should I go?

Is this just fantasy?

So why on earth should I moan?

Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?

Tell me your secrets and ask me your questions?

How long?

But did it really turn out bad?

What's that? .... Why don't you remember my name?

Wondered how tomorrow could ever follow today?

Has anybody got any veras?

Name both the British band and song (without using Google).

That would only work around certain areas of the midlands though - try asking for a Bacon Cob in London and you'll get the response

It's irrelevant whether we're British or not for the purposes of the test. It only matters whether the questions are relevant to Britain.

The EU question is understandable as we're part of the European Union, so are the census and employment questions.
