It was minus 1 this morning, and plus 18 by lunch....please give a little more plus days for a while:o On a brighter note, I'm still in shorts and I'm not done yet. Since the start of May we've only had seven days when it didn't get above 15 degrees (and that was in early June). It's coming though. The daily lows are heading south rapidly. |

I just saw someone wearing a Leicester/Vardy shirt in Moncton.

Great Mysteries parts 37 and 52.
Why, when you've just made a fairly major purchase off Amazon - say a TV or Laptop - do they send you an email to say that based on your recent activity (when you bought said TV or Laptop) you might be interested in this TV or Laptop? If a Bank advertises it's low interest rate credit card plus a free balance transfer at zero interest for 10 months, why does it turn your application down because you "don't have enough income to take on any more debt" when the purpose of the application is to transfer your existing credit card debt, not only not taking on more debt but saving yourself monthly interest on it so that you do have more money available to clear the debt more quickly? |
Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
The Amazon thing I have not figured out. I don't buy TVs or high priced items there but they send me a daily email with sales or items they think I may like based on browsing history and most of the items I have already ordered.

There was a particular movie my stepson wanted and every download of it I could find had no sound when played via the PS3 (it was fine on the laptop) and he wanted to watch it on TV. I found him a used copy on Amazon for <$5 including delivery and since then I have been bombarded with emails for other cheap DVDs. If you buy earphones or something similar, it might be nice to have a spare or second spare for a different device. Or even buy them as gifts for others. It makes more sense there but not for a laptop. Unless you can afford Laptops all round. |

We went to Kelowna for the weekend. It was nice. The drive home was stunning.
We wait to see what the new kitten will be like if it ever comes out from inside the sofa bed! |

Swap "geese" and "seagull" for "bird" and you've probably just described a Friday night in Newcastle.
