Anyone feeling a bit warm?
Watch this. If it doesn't make you shiver, you've got no soul. |

When I see all the things that Facebook allow to be posted, I am really surprised anyone could get banned. Especially for just arguing. So well done you!! ;)

I'm not banned from all of Facebook, just one of the groups. The admin objected to me saying that using a 1930s Third Reich reference for racial characteristics was flawed.

If that's the attitude of the admin, it sounds rather like a group you're better off out of! Except, of course, that by removing dissenting voices it becomes yet another echo chamber for unpleasant views :(

Well, that means we should all join that group and see how long it takes for us all to be banned! Oh wait, that means I need to get a Facebook account.... never mind!

I have Prussians in the family, that's the worst kind... little wind-up Germans.

My guys farmed near Gdansk, moved to Russia in the 1830's, then Canada a couple of hundred years later when the reds ran them off.
Edit to admit that it may have been somewhat less than 200 years... |

Those generalisations about Prussians are over-rated too, they are a lot more fun than they look like in pictures. |
Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
So on a slightly related subject, the last time I came back from UK, I brought some of my Dad's books back. He was very into military history, so lots of books about World War II. Anyway, when I got back home, I stacked the books up on the floor in front of the bookcases. Soon after our property manager comes round with some German friends who were thinking of buying the house we rent. It was only after they had left that I noticed that all the books on the top of the piles were about the Third Reich and had great big red swastikas on the covers. They haven't been back....

My mom (Palm Springs) and sister (Phoenix) are getting quite the heatwave.
Phoenix currently 48C Palm Springs temp 47C American Airlines has a hub in Phoenix and had to cancel flights this week, mostly with Bombardier Regional jets due to the heat. Death Valley is 50C currently. |

Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
It's probably the address is blacklisted for some reason. You could try giving them a call and asking if they can arrange a delivery, perhaps?

Car accident on the main road turned our back alley into a major road for a while. Bumper to bumper traffic in the alley for half an hour.
