Slept 8 1/2 hours and feel like I didn't sleep at all. Wonder what its like to feel well rested after sleeping?

A toast to Hunter S. Thompson, if we're drinking tequila.

Price when sold was US$282.40/oz, price now is US$1568/oz or an increase of some 550%. I know 20 years have passed but it was a bad deal then and it still is. Strange that the man who rose to the challenge in 2008 was taken to the cleaners only a few years previously, we are left asking why. It's interesting to note that an FTSE100 high was set on December 30 1999 at 6,950 and today's close was 7446, so gold would have been a better comparable investment, ignoring dividends etc. that is. |

When you find out, please let me and so many others know. It is an elusive feeling that not many feel. |

Right now the earth's gravitational pull is strong enough to make a broom stand on it's own when the brush is aligned on a N-S axis.

Don't you start. My Daughter rushed downstairs last night at 9pm asking where we keep the broom. When I asked her why she told me that NASA tweeted that it would stand up today (yesterday). I didn't have the heart to tell her it was a load of old bollocks

I can't even track of who is protesting what these days, this time protesters blocked one of the major route to Vancouver General Hospital.
I assume its another pipeline protest of some sort. |

If you place any object so that that a straight line joining it's centre of gravity and the center of the earth falls within a base area formed within points where it touches the ground, it will be stable. Doesn't matter if the base is aligned N-S or in any direction. It's why when you stand up you don't fall over, even if your feet are aligned E-W. |

I've been a caretaker, leaning brooms up against things for almost 40 years, and they still fall over. Why should I believe you over my own eyes? Edit to admit I've fallen victim to a hoax, but I still think it's a hella trick, and will be standing brooms on their own whenever applicable from now on. It added some fun to a hard day! https://www.liveabout.com/how-to-sta...quinox-3970615 |
Re: Random stuff - the anything else thread
Not too surprised a good chunk of those facing insolvency are renters, rent is simply increasing too quickly across Canada, making it near impossible to keep income rising fast enough for so many.
Canada has an issue and seems those in charge have their head in the sand. https://globalnews.ca/news/6532538/o...gs-insolvency/ Seems the age of people filing is getting younger, 47% under 40. Also seems high student loan debt is contributing factor as well. |
