Apparently the family involved in the fight at Disneyland deny it happened.... Police have presented the evidence to prosecutors to decide about charges.

I bought a pack of crumpets today. In Giant Tiger of all places. I knew them as Pikelets as a child.

I went off them in my teens but just for old times' sake I got them.

They didn't have the smell nor the taste I remember. In fact they were amazingly bland and I had to put Marmite on, something I would never have considered way back then.

They were nice with the Marmite but so is toast and an entire loaf can be bought for the cost of the pikelets.

We called them Pikelets too. I buy them from Longos, all year round. Love them with grilled cheese on top.

Crumpet/pikelet pics please. Pikelet to me is a small cold fattish pancake himself eats with jam. Crumpet has holes in its upper side for the melted butter.

I remember looking them up a few weeks ago and if you google pikelets you get both. Then google crumpets and you also get both.
This comes up on wiki as crumpet but it was what I called pikelets, which was also on the wrapper back then.

This comes up for pikelet

but so does this

My memory is of holes top and bottom but the ones I got today were holes on the top and like the middle picture on the bottom.

The middle picture reminds me of something back in blighty...sort of raisin mini pancake things?

The most important question in the 1970s seems to be, where did all our yesterday’s go?

Bev ...... that's what they are to me also.

We had crumpets at home, slathered with butter.

I'd never had pikelets until I went into digs in Liverpool, landlady had lived in Scotland fro some years, and that is what she often made for Sunday afternoon snack.

She made the batter, then dropped it by spoonfuls onto a special metal plate that she had that fitted over the burners on the stove. She piled them on a plate and kept them warm in the oven until all the batter was used up. Then she served with jam or marmite.

I also came across pikelets in Yorkshire after that.

So we did have an earthquake early this morning, well south of Vancouver and north of Seattle somewhere, I thought we did, but I couldn't tell for sure, only a 4.6.

I’m an earthquake survivor (Wales, sometime in the 80s?). Hopefully my last earthquake.
