The drug benefits are for the entire family too. Also reimbursement for travel to doctors and hospital appointments. Help with assistive devices.

I think mental healthcare may be better too. Cobourg now has a walkin up clinic for mental health.

If you have a Waitrose loyalty card you can get a self serve freshly ground coffee/cappuccino at most Waitrose. It's nice coffee, especially for free. There is some kind of newspaper deal too, but I thought it was The Telegraph (?) ...might have to look into that. TBH I thought it was a discount rather than a freebie.

Desperately starts an internet search for Waitrose stores across Canada.
Computer say NO. Computer also tells me that many questions like this have been asked before regarding which stores in Canada are like Waitrose, British Home Stores, John Lewis and Boots to name a few.

Well there are 0 why because this is Canada and we do things our way though for those who insist of having stuff from these iconic UK stores you can order online, perhaps find the odd UK brand in Walmart, Save On Foods, Canadian Superstore and if you really want to spend a shit load of money you might find a specialized store opened by some former Brit who is now selling a 32 gramme bag of Quavers for about $2 or they might be cheaper if the expiry date has passed.

The last time I bought a paper was the Sunday Times a few months ago, and I couldn't be bothered to open it. So much easier reading things online. Unfortunately, it didn't come with a Boden catalog or I could have bought myself some new clobber. ;)

When the market won't support a store it closes, and something profitable replaces it. 35 years ago I used to drive my Aunt to the little Waitrose grocery in Vancouver because she claimed there were things she couldn't get elsewhere, and I remember the M&S on Granville St. (though I didn't shop there).

I don't know about the IT field, but from what I've seen on BE our education system is vastly superior to Britain's. The best place to live is wherever the best place for you is, and no other. It's an emotional roller-coaster, but do it for the kids anyway.

Crikey, she's right...just been shopping and the deal is any of the national qualities or the DM for free (as long as you spend £10). Picked up the Saturday Guardian and saved £2.90. Now I just need to find time to read it! Good tip, thanks.

Totally pissed off that my friend cancelled our plans to go out for dinner tonight, again - it's been arranged for 3 weeks and she said she 'didn't sleep well last night so isn't up for going out'. She does this about 50% of the time and always leaves it to the last minute.

It shouldn't be difficult to find something for £10 and make it worth it even if whatever it was only cost £8 or £9 in ASDA. But it's probably just worth it for the social aspect.

Now that would be a reason to meet up with someone . Makes more sense than going to Tim Hortons. :lol:
