I've not been there, but I've heard that you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

You've obviously never been to a Leafs home game!

With luck, there won't be any Leafs games (or any other iced hockey games) this year. Long may they (not) negotiate.

Iced hockey games - how did you get in the country?

Long live Lord Stanley!

There was another year when the iced hockey people went on strike and the season was cancelled, it seems common in American sports as the same thing happened with baseball. It was much nicer without the iced hockey. That commentator guy, Don Cheery is like a Canadian Noddy Holder, always dressed in suits made out of cloth for golf clothes, we don't need to see that.

You never see the goold old British football superstars going on strike - that's because they've got a good work ethic and are willing to do a fair day's work for a fair day's pay - not like these damned North American union commie sports players... never off strike, round the old brazier with their placards and donkey jackets at the drop of a hat... if they don't like it here they should move to Russia... need someone like Maggie to come and sort 'em all out... National Service, that'll learn 'em...

How'd they let you in as well?

Everyone knows that Cherry's suits are made from old curtains.

My brother installed a wood stove at his cottage (perhaps one of his cottages), he said that the upholstery and curtains looked to be made from his suits. Something like this:

I remember that Cherry suit. Your brothers cottage was probably outfitted from leftovers when his suit was made.

He had a tonic suit, gold and green, splashes of clarat. There's not really any event calling for such attire here.

Ever been to a wedding in Quebec? He'd fit right in.

My missus forces me to wear a suit at weddings and funerals (English gentleman etc). I stick out like a sore thumb. At her father's funeral, many of the extended family mistook me for one of the undertakers (white shirt, black tie, dark suit and black crocs).

I've not but I suppose he might be invited to a wedding in Canada I'll likely attend next year. I could put him up to wearing it. That'd lighten the mood.
