hough your conscience is in the right place you also have a pragmatic streak and generally aren’t afraid to do your own dirty work! You’re no shrinking violet - but no daredevil either. You generally have little trouble seeing things from another person’s perspective but, at the same time, are no pushover. ‘Everything in moderation – including moderation’ might sum up your approach to life.

am a little disappointed it is so low

Who are the psychopaths on this board then? I can't think of a single one in the Canada section.

Maybe there should have been a category for "perceived psychopaths in the awards"

You talk as if it's a bad thing. What the programme was saying, among other things, was that there are certain characteristics that would place someone on the high end of the psychopathy spectrum. This doesn't make them evil, but if they do turn bad they are very good at it. Psychopaths are also pretty good at being heroes too, the person most likely to save you from a burning building etc.

One of the examples they gave was asking people what they would do if they were alone with a new born baby. That baby would grow up to be Hitler. You have a cushion, noone would know, would you kill the baby? Those who scored high said yes they would

I'm thinking it wouldn't be that hard too hard justify for future X-Factor contestants.

I think that's being a bit generous towards psychopaths. It's certainly true that psychopath does not necessarily equal to deranged killer (the popular perception) but they're pretty hard work as people. The extreme lack of empathy, total narcissism and competitive nature do not make for an endearing individual. I have two friends who would be at the higher end of the spectrum, and have had to lose touch with both, as I became more and more aware of their traits. Granted they are very successful, can be very charming and likely to be heros, but their flaws outweigh their positives in my opinion.

It was a very good doc, and thanks again for recommending.

If the 1% stat is right, then the regulars on these boards would constitute too small a population from which to find a psychopath or two. Having said that, I can think of one or two members who have not posted scores yet that might fit the bill!

I rather like that riff on my handle. It would've been even more appropriate when I was in my twenties because, although lacking dreads, I did wear my hair (and beard) long enough to make up for that.

Of course, sadly, in my twenties I didn't need a username because there was nothing to use it on.

agreed. imo they don't tend to hang onto friendships that long for that reason.

True enough. nteresting that it put suregons at no 5 occupation for psychopaths, i've met many with a god complex. You might need that arrogance and lack of empathy to do what they do, sometimes!

The programme is one of a series i think.
