Maybe the big boys are feeling some heat from Freedom?
Freedom has been running 10gb for $50 for a bit now, we have it, and for us living and working in Vancouver works fine, have yet to find a dead spot, even in Squamish and Chilliwack the roaming works well, no issues. We are limited to I think 2gb while roaming, but we seldom roam so not an issue.

Do you use that much data? I rarely use more than 1GB?

For what it's worth, I was 18 months into a 24 month Telus contract paying a stupid amount for 3GB of data and 200 minutes.
The guy behind the counter ported my number over, (which cancelled my current contract) and gave me a new SIM. I walked away in less than 15 minutes on a much cheaper contract with 3x more data.
This is for my Daughter, not me, I'm just the person who pays the bill....

Apparently there have been some long lines and waits in stores for this in some areas, seems folks are really liking this promo.
Ill stick to the same for $50/month though. Lol

There's a Rogers shop near the local govt. liquor store and was packed it last night. I thought they having a wine and cheese evening because you know how rabid Canadians are for free food and booze. It must of been that promotion.

For me and our family needs 10 gb is excessive but I guess some people like to use their phones to take throwaway pictures of themselves to their friends/family.
All of this goes to show what a rip off most cell phone plans are these days and how people are willing to go to some lengths to get a better deal.
Once the two remaining phones on our plan for 4 are 'off contract' I think the next phones I'll just buy outright when they give up the ghost. Many are saying that if you get a new battery for an Iphone you can prolong their life by quite a few years. I'm still using an Iphone 6, my son has an Iphone 6+ and daughter has an Iphone SE which is $15/month for the plan with Rogers.
We have 4 people on a plan for 4.5 gb a month and have never used more than 3.5 gb. Two people on the plan are under the age of 21, prime Snap Chat years.

10gb is over kill for us, we use average 2gb/month but it was the lowest plan they offer and at the time was the same price or a bit cheaper then far less data on the big 3.
I prefer to help out the under dog.
