TESCO actually price matches for you?

Yep, makes it very easy for shopping.

Speaking of bargains. 900g of strawberries at M&S today for £3 !! M&S is not big on bargains, I think someone at HQ had their calculator upside down.

Ah so you would get annoyed with me then, I price match, we don't have endless amounts of money, why should it be in the shops til rather than my wallet? I usually get several items as I use an app which compares all prices for you. The only time it's taken a long time is when I had an old cashier who couldn't work the system- she also had her 25 yrs service badge on🙄.

Everyone is so impatient these days...

Re: Price matching!!

I will price match as much as is practical. Sooner keep my money that give it away. Would not go back to a store for $10, but will go back if it is worth it. On one occasion a product went on sale and I got $150 back.

Also look out for RCC pricing policy, if a scanned item is higher priced than the shelf price, anything under $10 is free and over you get $10 off.

Some folks have too much money and won't bother. I did not make money by throwing it away. Shopping smart, maybe I can make 5% or so on investments, I can get 20% to 50% return by buying smart.

Refunds is another topic, holy shit, the stuff people return after they have blatantly used them is another issue. Tents, coolers, tools, Christmas lights, you name it she has seen and heard it all.

It is not always the customer, I find CT to be one of the worst for customer service, it is my last resort, if I really cannot get something anywhere else. Which thankfully I can.

From our local CT store, I have found it next to impossible to get a refund for something still in the original packaging, they seem to try every move possible to avoid taking it back. Many years ago now (20), I was out with my wife shopping in CT, we had a wagon of stuff to pay for, it was around closing time. I went out to the car to get my wallet, in between the store closed. The manager would not let me back in, despite my explanations. The cashier had processed all the items and was waiting for it to be paid for. My wife came to get me to pay, now he wanted to let me in! left. I guess they had some restocking to do that night. We have not been back to that store since and it tarnished my view of all CT stores.

This thread is the first I’ve heard of price matching so I can fairly say that it doesn’t bother me at all. I can guess what it is but wonder how on earth people find out that it exists.

We look at the flyers, don't get me wrong.

But if I see an offer at another store I will go there instead of asking my regular store to discount it.

Maybe I DO need to cut out the items and show them to the cashier.

But then you just waste money driving to different stores. Get the Flipp app, find the item on phone, electronically circle, show to cashier. Job done.

I rarely price match, and rarely see anyone price matching these days. But 99% of my shopping is at No Frills and I just buy what they have on sale as the store is next door, and I don't fancy driving 10-15 mins to the next closest store.

Me too. I wouldn't know how to do it if I wanted.

I suppose it makes sense on more expensive items that you find an online price cheaper than the shop but you either want it immediately or the shipping costs are extortionate.

But do you really?

I don't drive. If I did I'd be able to visit one store and take a two minute detour and stop at another on the way back. Obviously I can't do that but that doesn't mean I go to one store and then make a separate trip to another store.

I just try to fit it in in the normal course of events and it's really not difficult.

Except for going to the local shop every time one of us goes out we're going to be near enough to a supermarket to drop in if it's worth it. No extra trips, we're there anyway and knowing what's wanted it's a quick 10 minutes in and out.

It's good to see people wanting to keep as much of their own money as they can. A few years ago it seemed only me and a couple in NS

Oh yes. I remember there was a heated discussion around flyers. 🤣
