We flew to Santiago overnight on Friday and I was so surprised at Air Canada, the service improved. We checked in online and things were a lot easier at the airport (we couldn't see a check-in at the airport, it was all baggage drop-off's, so you have to do it at the machine now?)
On the flight there were tv in the back of the seats and a power socket so I could plug in my laptop and watch some soaps lol and the food was better. The staff were good not rude except for someone at the gate who sent us to the long queue and said this is for business class.
Lots of problem at the airport with our luggage, Air Canada won't send the luggage all the way as they don't want the responsibilty if it gets losts, so there was quite a bit of trouble at LAN but it eventually got sorted out.
We did go into Santiago and I got what I wanted some winter boots for my little boy. We probably had 3 hours total there but couldn't enjoy it too much as we were all tired. Had to be the most expensive trip ever though as the taxi got 30,000 pesos and a 6,000 tip for a trip that shouldn't have been that but we just couldn't be bothered to do much.
A word of warning though if anyone ever goes to Santiago airport there is hardly any air conditioning by the gates, last year was the same.
We are in Argentina now, everyone is asleep so this is why I am here, looking forward to another day now of relaxing.
