You know the traditional media is in the shit when its articles are about reddit posts.

I just recently got back from Kenya in Africa, and I didn't see where Barak Obama was born.

Not really. I use Reddit but hadn't seen that one. And I would guess 90% of people over 30 don't even know what Reddit is.

I'm one of the great 90%...so I've just had a look. I don't think I care much for the interface...how much do you use it Shard...do you like it?

I love it. I mostly just look at photos though. However, speaking interface, I've only recently twigged that there are iPad apps that enable you to use Reddit in a much more pleasant fashion. If you are using a tablet, and think you'll view Reddit frequently I would recommend something like Mc Alien for Reddit. It does seem to be a fairly young crowd on there, however. Judging by the number of inane comments.

“I love it here. It’s a nice country with generally lovely people – very polite and cheerful"

Are we sure he is talking about the UK...

It's when he compares it to "the typical gloom of Poland".

Loads of people use reddit. It is pretty mainstream nowadays. Things that happen there can be news (the boston bomber nonsense, or that teacher posting creepshots to r/jailbait or whatever it was called), but what some random guy reckons about the country he lives in is not news even if it got a lot of upvotes and you missed it.

Journos spend too much time on social media sites like twitter and reddit looking for easy stories. It's the soup of the day.

Gotta agree with him re: the littering, little wonder it's called "The dirty old man of Europe"!

Yes they must do. Especially Twitter, hard to compete with that.

A lot seem to be sourced from Twitter these days.

All in all, the media has completely gone to the shits. It's an embarrassing copy and paste of Reuters and seemingly very little genuine thought or analysis. Cost cutting, Murdochs, and the internet are all to blame, but what a dumbing down of the world.

That said, Canada has to take the cake for dumbed down news. F*** never seen such unintelligent news quality before.
