Please spare a thought....

Hey Guys...
2 of my really good friends were involved in a horrific road accident some weeks ago in India, 2 days before they were due home.
One suffered less (broken ribs / dislocated shoulder / bruising and cuts) however the other was less fortunate. Ruptured spleen (removed), 8 broken ribs and a punctured lung. She was in ICU for a few weeks, they had big issues trying to reinflate her lung, and she was in immense pain. The were eventually transfered to a large medical centre in Delhi after some less than pleasant times in place they were in!
Anyway friend who was worse off has now been out of ICU for a week, and they both fly home tomorrow - she'll be on a stretcher the whole way, and travelling with her brother (who flew out in a hurry) plus a nurse and doctor.
I am really praying that the flight goes well, and they arrive safe and sound - can't imagine flying is the best thing for dodgy lungs, but they wouldn't allow her to fly if she weren't fit to.
I am just so pleased they are goign to be home for Christmas!!
Praying all goes well tomorrow.

Best wishes to your friends Bandit ...
I think there's quite a few people I'll be sparing an extra thought for this Christmas. Not that I don't think of them anyway, but as usual, it always feels more poignant at this time of year when everyone else is happily tucking into Turkey with laughing families - and for others, Turkey would stick in their throat
Wishing everyone a peaceful 2008 ....

I'm relieved that I've just heard that both girls arrived safe into the UK. The one worse off, arrived this morning and admitted into hospital straight away - the other girl landed this evening and no doubt will be treated as an outpatient and have a thorough examination.
I'm very happy they are home, and back with friends and family.
