I've never actually had a $100 note in my possession. I did see somebody pay for something in a shop with one once, but that's the only time in 4 years that I've seen one.

I used to light my cigars with one.

These new fangled plastic things have put a stop to that.

I wonder how they will affect those people who also like to use a rolled up one to "do a line" or two. ;)

I've seen and held one but sadly not owned one. Looks like toy money! :D

I should think they'll be particularly convenient for that. Lousy as luxury joint wrappers though.

I can imagine them sticking together when wet, no chance me getting two to try it out though.

Re: Plastic Money

apparently they will come out of the washing machine just fine, however will melt in the tumble dryer.

I don't know of anyone who checks pockets between wash and dry .

Can you still fold them and put them in your pocket or money clip?

I envisage some hard laminated card thing, lol.

I hope not!! The tumble dryer would have to be around 150 Celsius or so for it to actually melt

I'd be more worried about leaving my wallet outside in the winter and then opening my wallet quickly.... two halves of a 100$ is just as good as two 50's right?

Who uses cash in those denominations anyway or just plain uses cash?
As long as its legal tender I think the new polymer notes will be just fine.
For those really interested more info found here
http://www.bankofcanada.ca/banknotes...eries/polymer/

I will just stick to using debit or credit cards or carrying cash in smaller amounts though Im sure the dealers might appreciate the new notes and might think they look more refined when flashing their wads.

Re: Plastic Money

I pay my rent in cash and got one from the bank last month. Had a few come through the tills at work as well. They don't merge well with the bills we have now which as employees, we don't care about but boy does my manager get antsy at them.

I honestly wonder about the people that pull out a wallet filled to the brim with 100's and 50's, not even able to close it properly. Or whap out a $100 bill to pay for a $5.50 popcorn and ask "oh, can you break a hundred?"

You can fold them but they don't stay folded like the older ones. They're a pain in the arse.
