I wish they'd do that in Vancouver too. The number of plastic bags people use is crazy. Environmental lovers? My brown eye they are.

Loblaws in Nfld attempted to charge for plastic bags a few years back. It wasn't a success so they went back to provciding them for free. I hope they are not banned here for a while as then we'd have to buy bags for putting stinky diapers in rather than reusing the grocery store ones!

I use them for crab bait, otherwise it'd gets very messy and smelly without them.

But they don't biodegrade. I hope you're emptying the contents down your toilet and reusing the bag? If not, shame on you.

The irony is that idiotic Mayor Ford wanted to ban the 5c per bag charge, but he's lost control of Council so they went one step further. Basically, no charge? OK, but no bags either.

The Fat One is now claiming a victory because the 5c charge will disappear anyway. You couldn't make it up.

Actually I usually buy biodegradable dog poop bags and a lot of plastic bags are biodegradable these days (or that`s what it says on them). And there is no way I`d open up a filled up bag once the contents are locked tight in there!!!lol

If you're going to get all sanctimonious on us just don't have a dog. I don't think their carbon paw prints are very environmentally friendly tbh.

Funnily enough, when i was talking with the dog warden last week at the dog park he mentioned that (in Vancouver anyway) they recommend you take your dog turd home with you and flush it down the toilet for proper disposal.

He shrugged his shoulders when i asked why they put a dog poo bin in the park and along the seawall

A friend of mine is lucky. Her dog eats its own shit so she doesn't have to pick up after it.

Eww, does she let lick her face too? I'm lucky my dog very rarely 'gives kisses' and if he does it's only the palms of your hand (i guess for the salt) so easily washable, he also doesn't lick his bits and pieces either

She likes to lick peoples feet and ears, and sweaty leg stumps.
