He might have a form of OCD. Just a short, sharp "BAP" and then wak away from the place he is in, when he follows, reward him with a treat. He'll learn soon enough.

ha!! this is the dog that was on the CBBC underdog show with my daughter last year - seemd like it was bright as a cutton - he does learn v well, just doesnt retain . . and for the life of me I cannot get him to do shake /paw!"! I hasve clicked, cajoled, beaten (not really!) used every type of food, got scooby doing it and getting all the treats - nope he just sits there looking blank!

I think actually there was some ice cream remnant on the door I had missed when I cleaned it - dont ask!!!

CP - No babies yet??

This is my honest opinion here so please try not to take it the wrong way.

I wont teach dogs how to shake paw or to sit up on hind legs only as they are just ways of begging to me. Teaching a dog to shake paw may seem harmless but if you are a child that gets scratched by the dog (who is only doing as he is taught) you could end with with a claw in the eye if the child is only small.

It's not worth it and if the dog isnt bothered about learning I woldnt bother with that particular thing.
