Hi Kazbob:thumbup:

seems dom rep is a popular place, when did you get married there?

April 1996. Just outside of Playa Dorada in a Hotel called Bayside Hill Resort and Beach Club. It was okay, one of the better ones at that time. We had people moved into our hotel from all over due to other places getting food poisoning and power outages etc. No one in our hotel suffered with anything. Don't think our hotel is there anymore.

Where did you stay? Would you go back again? I would like to go and see what it is like now that the tourism has kicked in big style. When we went it was quite quiet.

OF course..You're very welcome..I'm getting through this bottle of 151 though:eek:

We got to the DomRep on a last minute deal..the hotel was pretty nasty but the weather was lovely..rained for about 30 mins every afternoon but that was just a good reason to sit in the bar drinking the free drinks!!!

I loved it when we went outside the hotel complex and we saw all the locals on their scooters and such like...3 on a scooter or sometimes just one but carrying a table on his head or a gas cylinder whilst driving...Not surprising that companies won't insure you to drive over there:eek:

Ditto here nice place, we had rubbish hotel and food etc but it was cheap and we couldn't afford too much for the honeymoon, moped people were bonkers I think the most we saw was 4 people and a dog on the front at the same time:eek:
