well I could say a pint glass but I thought I'd be a little more lady-like tonight and refined ..... so I am just using a normal wine glass.
I am filling it quite frequently though. Next time I might just drink straight from the bottle ! |

I left Yorkshire in 1990 so didn't have enough time to become a totally corrupt young adult ... or maybe I just had a pretty good group of friends. We were good girls in those days. One of our biggest fears was going home pregnant or with a coloured guy .................... and I say this because it's true and a lot of dads' used to say it to all of us at the time in the 80's. It is not racist or disrespect but a fact, and the fact that I feel obliged to explain on here why it should not be considered a racist statement shows how far the PC world has launched its tentacles because I have been gone so long and so many words have not yet got into Italy where I live but just because I am writing in English - I should be more careful. That is how it was. My Dad and a thousand others did say "don't come home with a bun in the oven or ............................ " I'm quite sure my Dad today is different ......... and he still has one un-settled daughter. That was then. That is what was different. |

Back on my soapbox for a minute -------------- there are thouands and thousands of expats that are or have struggled to make a new life. I applaud them because I have too. I have had another part that USA or AUS or Canada or NZ have not had .... the langauge! I haven't paid any money in visas and the such to get there - but for every bit of bread or cheese or ham or tomatoe or cherry or grape, I have had to learn a new word. I am damn proud of that. |
