So indiscriminate. One Saturday night you're here, the next minute, you're not. Somehow if it's a natural disaster (like the helicopter crashing the pub in Glasgow) it's more understandable than if it's a pre-meditated attack.

A sad day and one that'll have significant impact across the US.
Expect a rant from Trump who may well just have just become president on the back of this.

How horrific, I saw this reported this morning, but there was no idea of the numbers involved, or the background of the killer.
I can quite see how Trump might try to work on people's fears with this one. When I first saw reports on this, I assumed that it had been carried out by a Christian fundamentalist.

All guns were bought legally and he had a concealed weapon permit. Thank god for the constitution.

Trump will, I imagine, try to bluster over the inconvenient truths of the shooter being an American with legally purchased weapons. He can't sympathise with the victims for fear of losing his more ardent supporters. What he really needs is another attack, by an immigrant, on a church or, ideally, a Christian school.

I don't see it as being that clear cut. From a conservative perspective, having Americans deciding they're terrorists and going on shooting sprees isn't good but, if they're only shooting liberals, then, well, it's like them drug dealers in Vancouver, if you're not one, you're not involved and need not be bothered about it.
