Never thought I'd put those two words in one sentence but here we are
Looking at possible options for this winter. Going to see family not an option this year so...Stay in Montreal and enjoy the wet, cold possibly snowy weather, go on a all-in package to a beach or drive down to Florida. Bizarrely the last option is currently the favourite. But now starts the hunt for a villa with 3 bedrooms and a pool. Have no clue about the different areas down there nor have any recommended or previously visited villas up my sleeve. Any suggestions?

WE did Orlando at Xmas about 12 years ago, we had a villa and pool in Kissimmee (? Spelling). Very convenient for Disney.
We did find everything VERY busy between Xmas & New Year.

We've been on an all-inclusive the last two winters too, in November not at christmas. Stupid as it sounds don't fancy it this year because of my 15month old needing milk! He wouldn't take kindly to a switch - his tummy gets very upset even just switching brands here. That is why I thought of Florida, at least he could stick to similar milk and foods.

We went to Florida for the last Christmas we had while still living in the UK - to get rellies used to the fact we wouldn't be around much.
We have had a few Florida vacations. Don't like Fort Lauderdale - beach access very limited.
Don't much like Miami - nice bits few and far between (Uncle lives there so was shown round pretty much everywhere, I even got lost in Overtown, lucky to be alive by all accounts)
Unless your doing Disney (you could make a weekend of it or something) Then Naples, Sarasota and Fort Myers would be my destinations of choice. We got married on Anna Maria Island
Air boat tours are worth doing just once. But it's a bit of a drive down to the Everglades if your in Sarasota. Daughter swam with Sealions on Christmas day on the Keys more intimate than dolphins again a long long drive if as far up as Sarasota. We drove half the Keys, I believe the good bit comes when you get to the last key - we didn't bother.
Kennedy Space Center is also worth doing just once.
If you brave the USA forum and ask about villa rentals and plces to go you will get a few helpful people respond, one or two are involved in that line.

Go to Florida if it makes the 15 month old happy, we have had a few Christmases there and really enjoyed it, can only take the attractions for a few days though so we do a few of those spread out and then the rest by the heated pool and just relaxing, Kids love it too
We were talking about going this year but looking at the flights i think it will be too expensive on top of everything else,

We went to Disney a few years back at christmas. We actually stayed in Disney. So didn't get to look around much outside. (OH didn't fancy hiring a car.
)
The kids ages 7 months, 2 years and 8 years old really enjoyed it, we even took a couple of presents over with so they would have something to open christmas day.
A word of warning though Disney is the favorite christmas destination for Americans. It was heaving much busier than the summer months.
So expect long waits at everything.
All in all was an excellent xmas for the kids.(Which is what it is all about

I am so pleased you said it's best in November, we go on the 10th Nov.
