It was one year ago tonight, and after another disheartening day at the hospital, that they called to say my wife died.

Later that night we stood on the deck and I pointed to a bright star above our house, telling my step daughter that was her mum.

Tonight I went out to look up.

Just one star up in the sky above the house.

She is still then looking out for you. Keep strong

You brought a lump to my throat and a tear to my eye...

I wasn't going to say anything until I saw the star up there.

Not religious or spiritual or anything, but I expected to see the usual stars rather than just one.

I seem to have dust in my eye, & an odd lump in my throat.
