I washed and tumble dried my daughter's iPod. It still works. Nice sunny day today - stick it outside and hope.

Blimey they go mad when you go through their pockets, and go mad when you don't - we can't win sometimes

I resolved that issue; anything interesting found in pockets becomes my property. Any money washed and/or dried becomes my property. Amazing turnaround on the laundry front.

My Ipod is possessed. It stops and starts all the time for no apparent reason. It didn't work for 3 months and I dropped and hey presto it started again.

oink - if it wasnt working why did you have it to drop it?? or did you throw it in temper?

We don't have airing cupboards here in the Colonies ! I have never heard that term used here except on this board. Have any other "Old Lags" heard it used here ? We have linen closets. Airing cupboards were useful in the UK because a lot of the houses were so damp and draughty it was the only way to keep linens warm and dry. Here the houses are built differently and the hot water tank is generally in the basement, close to the furnace and other utilities. Most houses in the UK do not have basements so the hot water tank is placed wherever there is space and the plumbing is practical. The ambient warmth generated by the tank is put to good use to "air" items that might otherwise be damp and cold to use. Hardly the "most pointless space in the house". Our linen closets here, two of them, are very useful and the linens are always dry and usable.

I'd say if its a iPod that uses flash memory you have a much better chance of it working again than one that uses a hard drive.
