Yes planning on staying with the fire service but has a lot of courses to sit through yet before becoming qualified in the chosen field.
It may well be that I move out there first to set up and SO will follow 12 or so months later. Not ideal really but thats life i suppose

Butch I really don't think you know what my SO would or would not like

It's tough getting a job in the fire service in the Okanagan from what I can gather.

I met someone when I was on a reccie and he'd changed careers because the fire service is so oversubscribed. He'd been a fireman for 15 years in the north east of England so he had tons of experience. Might be worth checking out the local fire services before getting too carried away.

Hey, Boris, you're new around here, why not step back a bit and try and take things in the lighthearted vein they are intended? You never know you may need these guys sometime - they are a wealth of info.
