Obituaries...

As Bloomberg try to hide their embarrassment at publishing Steve Job's obituary in error (Steve is the guru at Apple amongst other things), it got me wondering....

What would you have as your obituary......? Or maybe a single line on your tombstone.

Re: Obituaries...

A recently-widowed woman went into the Classifieds section in a Scottish newspaper.

Enquiring about the costs for an obituary notice, she is told that the newspaper charges by the word.

The woman explains that she doesn't have much money, so will have to keep the notice short. She thinks about it, and decides on:

"Peter Reid. Deid."

The clerk feels sorry for the woman, and decides to offer her a few more words free of charge.

The woman thinks about it a bit more, and finally comes up with:

"Peter Reid. Deid. Ford Escort For Sale."

There was an obituary in the local paper today (complete with pictures).

I quote:

Rosette Pink Angel (1997-2008) passed away on Saturday August 30 2008

Beano Tears From Heaven (1999 to 2008) passed away on Saturday September 6th 2008

It is with great sadness that Sneezy the clown and her husband lost their precious pugs within one week of each other. We miss them so much! Rest in peace little angels. You are together again.

Um...people are weird in Milton... :)

I haven,t really thought about my obituary to be honest, i think my partners would be Went down in a blaze of glory a bit like the Bon Jovi song seeing as they work for the fire service.

Very dramatic...if a little unnerving...is she planning on staying in the fire service when she moves to Canada?

Good she's excited about the move even though you haven't a scoobie where you'll be living.....she might not be quite so keen if you land up in the Yukon...

My obit? I'd love to warrant a Mae West one....

"She climbed the ladder of success wrong by wrong"...or similar.
