I read this thread this morning thinking, I dont think I have ever had a problem, But, some of the response's made me smile
I have just got back from the grocery store. I asked the lady on the deli counter for 200grams of ham. She was putting the ham on the scales, stopped and asked me if I said 350 or 400 I said "I asked for 200" "oh" she said tuu hundred. Made me smile.

On the subject of the clarity of speech, do most people on this thread have impediments?
Even with a sexy Yorkshire accent, i've never had issues when speaking to people in the context of understanding the words i say.
Then again, i've worked with north americans for years now so maybe i subconsciously speak with deliberate clarity just so the buffoons can understand me.

Number 7 they dont understand when i say it ..and talking of 7 when i asked for a donut... they say we dont sell 7up?
