I have had similar experiences and think that it is a trait of people here in NB. They seem to take things personally and resort to that sort of comment when unable to form a reasoned argument. A lot of them are also xenophobic and racist which I really cant stand. I have had people openly say to me that I should not be here and that someone local should be doing your job.

It was only because it was a friend of a friend that I backed off, I don't normally.

Every person I spoke to about it at work confirmed that they thought I had just as much right, if not more seeing what I had been through to get here, to be critical
