Default Nova Scotia rentals

Hi guys!
Well at last we have sold our house ! Things are all go after such a long wait.
Wondering if anyone already out there can advise; We want to rent over the winter and start looking to buy for early spring.
I need to be in Bedford as my kids are going to the French schools there.
Trying to arrange the rental from over here to go straight into so to avoid hotel bills.Has anyone already done this? Renting already? Any tips? What to look at for? How long did you rent for? Whats the housing market like? Should I rent for a longer period of time.Already done a reccie,so I know the areas I would like to live.Plus I havent got that much choice due to the schools. So not a question of getting used to the place. What do you think?

It feels soooo good writing this post !After so long, I'm finally on my way ! I can feel a meet up coming!!!
Thanks everyone
Eve

Hi Eve,

Sorry, can't help much on the rental front, but just wanted to say congrats on the house and getting that bit nearer to the move

Thanks Niki ! You are sweet. Like alot of people on this journey certainly has been a emotional rollercoaster. At last I'm on the last turn! hopefully not too bumpy....

What about you? When can I expect to see you there? !

Hi Eve
glad to hear things are falling into place for you.
You might want to pm grantanddebs and emmsagogo as they are both renting in Bedford at the moment, close to The Ravines.
There are still a few houses for sale in the area, but obviously it is not as busy as it was in Spring. Think if you did wait to buy then, you will have much more property to choose from. We haven't seen a drop in prices in this part of Bedford, although with winter coming, those houses that haven't sold are likely to be more negotiable.
Bon voyage

Congratulations Eve N

I am currently in NS on reccie, at least until Friday. Done all the meetings with RDA and potential employers and will be putting forms in on my return to UK. Although the thought of this is still making me nervous, but i guess this is normal.

Anyway just wanted to say good luck and i hope it all goes well.

Rental homes are a little on the difficult side. I recommend viewing availalbe properties on www.kijiji.ca. Hit Halifax then drill to Housing and House Rentals. After that you're on your own. Happy shopping!
