What next? No true Canadian would do this surely? You might as well ask them to shoot a seal instead of clubbing it.

I think it was Vermontites in retaliation for the Costco milk wars of Wa.

It gets worse. The thieves seem to have stolen some of Canada's "Strategic Maple Syrup reserve" which is actually a real thing and not something made up for comedic effect.

Do you think there will be a run on maple syrup?

"I'll give you three tuques and some mukluks for a small jar of maple syrup."
"No, I want a plaid shirt and a big jar of green coleslaw!"

Anyone else suspect its an inside job to create an excuse to jack the price up to $20 a bottle (like a hurricane used to raise gas prices)? It was a really sucky spring for syrup production, so it was going to go up anyway.

I cant afford the real thing as it is now the way my kids get through it. We use the 15% maple stuff unless its a special occasion.

Maybe it was your kids if you are giving them the duff stuff. I wouldn't put it past them.

More likely their mother. They would need an accomplice to get them to La Belle Province anyway.

I hadnt noticed them bouncing off the walls too much, but maybe the syrup rush is only countering any "back to school blues". I will search for more sticky handprints than usual...

They would have much more luck if they checked in the UK with regards to the "look no teeth" issue

I disagree its an out of date stereotype - seen a lot more people here with teeth missing than I ever did in the UK

With the cost of dentistry here, and the increasing scarcity of "jobs with benefits" its only going to get worse Im afraid.

Our neighbours daughter is 8, shes never been to a dentist

I agree. I'm amazed at how many people in their 50s have false teeth too. Until I came here I had never seen people with teeth so rotten they were worn down to stumps.

The amazing thing about this is the scale of it. 3.4 million litres. Sounds a lot, but once you work it out it's an awful lot.

The largest of the bulk liquid tanker trucks on the roads in North America carries 34,000 litres. So yes, that's 100 tanker trucks full. Just disappeared. Has to be organised crime, that's a massive job.
