Also, you link to other friends with Wiis (you both need to put in each other's IDs) and then you can send your Miis to each other (and send short messages and stuff). It always makes me laugh when my brother's Mii turns up in Wii Sports or Wii Fit.

Not a lot of the games take advantage of online yet - at least not as much as they could compared to the PS3, etc. but they are starting to. I rented one of the tennis games the other week, and I could play tennis real-time against an online player.
