My husband and I will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary in July and had wondered about going to Newfoundland as we haven't been there yet.
Any recommendations of things to do, places to stay and what we'll be able to see, ie icebergs, whales etc, in mid-July?
I look forward to any recommendations.

Depends on how long you are coming for. A week you could spend some time in St. John's and surrounding area (Avalon Peninsula) & get across to Trinity & maybe Terra Nova national park. Two weeks and you can do a week on the East Coast and a week around Gros Morne on the West Coast. This assumes you'll be renting a car which is pretty much a neccessity.
If you do decide to come, book your hire car ASAP, as they are in short supply during the peak summer period. Also expect to pay more than you reasonably should for one.
July is too late for Icebergs but you should get to see some whales. Bay Bulls to the south of St. John's is the place to go for whale watching tours. Aside from that, St. John's itself can occupy a couple of days. Signal Hill, The Rooms, twacking around in the downtown shops. Some good restaurants and a buzzing nightlife scene if squiddly diddly music is your thing.
Aside from that, it really depends on what you like doing and how much you want to spend, particularly for hotel/B&B recommendations.
www.newfoundlandlabrador.com is a good place to start. (Provincial govt, tourism site.)

Best place to start in Newfoundland is the Avalon Peninsula.. St. John's is such a great little city. If you get time go visit Ferry Land too! Newfoundland and it's folk will capture your heart.
